What Are the Alternatives to a Face Lift

Thanks to the media, we are constantly reminded about aging. Whether we’re watching TV, scrolling through our social media, or strolling around the city, we’ll always see anti-aging products being marketed. Well, who doesn’t want to be young forever? We can’t deny that it feels good to be young. However, we need to accept the fact that aging is inevitable and at some point, it’s difficult to ignore the signs of aging in our face. Most of the time, investing in a new anti-aging cream is not enough since it may bring little to no effect on your wrinkles. That’s why many people choose to go under the knife to address this issue. A facelift is possibly one of the most popular procedures to remove the signs of aging from your face, but if you don’t like the idea of surgery, there are numerous minimally-invasive or surgical options for you. Let’s take a closer look at the alternatives to a facelift that you may want to consider:

Botox is possibly the most popular non-surgical cosmetic treatment on the market. Over 6 million Botox treatments are performed every year and it’s not hard to see why. Botox is a simple and convenient procedure that can reduce fine lines and wrinkles on your face in almost an instant. So, what is Botox? Botox is a powerful poison (yes, that sounds scary and extreme), but when used correctly and injected in extremely small concentrations, it has numerous applications. Botox works by paralyzing your muscles to reduce the appearance of fine lines and facial wrinkles. During a Botox procedure, your provider injects the substance directly into your neuromuscular tissue. It doesn’t take effect right away and you usually need to wait at least 24 to 72 hours until you can see the result. However, in some rare cases, the full effect of Botox can be seen after five days.

It is important for you to make sure that your Botox is administered by a trained provider. It is highly advisable for you to go to a plastic surgeon or a dermatologist who’s skilled and trained in Botox injections rather than undergoing it in a clinic or day spa. Botox generally has very few side effects. The most common side effects are swelling, pain, and bruising at the injection site. In rare cases, Botox can be toxic and cause some unwanted effects, such as numbness, malaise, muscle weakness, dysphagia, and bleeding. To avoid any of these rare complications and to achieve the best result possible, you will need to make sure not to rub your face for at least 24 hours, avoid any strenuous activity and exercises for a few days, avoid sleeping on the treated areas and sleep on your back.

Ultherapy can lift the skin on your neck, on the eyebrow, under the chin, and on the chest. It is an ultrasound technology that works by kick-starting collagen production and tightening the skin. This procedure is perfect for people who don’t want any surgery, needles, or toxins but want to appear younger. This procedure is very convenient because it only needs 30 to 90 minutes to perform and no incisions or general anesthesia are involved. You don’t need to prepare anything before the procedure and there is little to no downtime. Some people can see the effects right away, but the full result usually appears within 2 to 3 months.

Ultherapy works by targeting areas beneath your skin with focused ultrasound energy. The applicator uses the right temperature at the right depth of the skin to support collagen regeneration. The energy from the applicator targets different depths and affects three layers, including the skin, superficial wrinkles, and the muscle. It stimulates elastic tissue and collagen, which results in firmer skin with fewer wrinkles and less sagging. The procedure is mainly safe, but there are some side effects you need to be aware of, such as redness on the treated areas as well as short-term swelling, tingling, and tenderness. In some rare cases, you may experience some numbness or bruising, but they normally disappear after a few days.

Thread Lift

Thread Lift is said to be the new facelift and many women are obsessed with this procedure. Just like a facelift, a thread lift can address skin problems caused by aging, such as jowls, drooping cheeks, and wrinkles. A thread lift is a type of procedure that uses temporary sutures to produce a subtle lifting effect in the skin. the procedure doesn’t remove your loose facial skin surgically, but simply suspend those skin by stitching up portions of it. The procedure doesn’t only lift your skin, but also kick starts your body’s healing response and causes your body to generate collagen to the treated areas. A thread lift can be done anywhere on your face and it can mimic the result of an upper or lower facelift.

Many people prefer thread lift than facelift because it only requires a very short recovery period, typically around two to three days. The recovery period is also comparatively easy. The procedure is done under local anesthesia and it doesn’t involve any incisions, meaning you can drive yourself home and look after yourself immediately after the procedure. The procedure carries very minimal risk and you don’t have to worry about scarring, bleeding, or severe bruising. You don’t need any strong pain medication and you can return to your normal routine almost right away. However, in rare cases, you may experience infection, irritation, or sutures being visible. To avoid these rare complications, you need to make sure that you avoid rubbing your face vigorously while applying your skincare for at least one week after the procedure. The result of a thread lift usually lasts between one to three years. If you like the result of a thread lift, you can undergo the procedure again and have a new set of sutures placed on your face once the old sutures are fully absorbed by your body.

Eczema and Dermatitis

Eczema and Dermatitis are both general terms to describe skin irritation or inflammation of the skin. Both terms are used to describe various types of skin conditions, including rashes and red-colored dry patches on the skin. Most of the time, both words are used interchangeably. However, there are specific types of skin conditions that are known just by one of the names. For instance, “atopic dermatitis” can be used interchangeably with “eczema,” but “contact dermatitis” cannot be used in place of “eczema.” Eczema and dermatitis are not contagious, but they can make you feel self-conscious and uncomfortable.

Eczema and dermatitis have many types and you can have more than one type at one time. Both eczema and dermatitis cause itching and redness, but some types cause peeling and blistering. The following are the types of eczema and dermatitis.

Atopic dermatitis or eczema is a skin condition characterized by red, itchy, and dry skin. Although the condition is common in children, it can occur on people of all ages. It is a chronic (long-lasting condition) and usually flares periodically. Normal and healthy skin retains moisture and protects you from allergens, bacteria, and irritants. Atopic dermatitis is related to a gene variation that makes the skin unable to provide protection, allowing your skin to be affected by allergens, irritants, and other environmental factors. For some children, atopic dermatitis can also be caused by food allergies. The symptoms can vary widely from one person to another, the symptoms include:

  • Itching that can be severe, particularly at night
  • Dry skin
  • Sensitive swollen skin as a result of scratching
  • Thickened, scaly, and cracked skin
  • Red or brownish-grey colored patches on the feet, hands, ankles, neck, waist, upper chest, eyelids, inside the bend of elbows, and knees. In infants, the patches can be found on the face and the scalp.
  • Small and raised bumps that can crust over or leak fluid when scratched.

Sometimes, atopic dermatitis may also be accompanied by hay fever or asthma. If you or your child has a skin infection, feel very uncomfortable because the condition is affecting daily activities and sleep, or if the symptoms don’t improve after home remedies, it is advisable for you to go see a doctor.

Contact dermatitis is an itchy and red rash caused by direct contact with a substance or an allergic reaction to that substance. These substances can include cosmetics, fragrances, soaps, plants, and jewelry. Contact dermatitis usually occurs in areas of your body that have been exposed to the substances that cause your skin to react. The rash can develop after a few minutes to hours of direct exposure and may last between two and four weeks. The symptoms of contact dermatitis include:

  • Itching, sometimes severe
  • Red rash
  • Dry, scaly, and cracked skin
  • Blisters and bumps, which may crust or ooze
  • Burning and swelling

You will need to see a doctor if the rash is sudden, severe, painful, or if it doesn’t get better in three weeks, affect your face or genitals, and distracts you from your daily activities and sleep. You may also need to get immediate medical care if your lungs, nasal passages, or eyes are painful and inflamed. To treat contact dermatitis, you need to know the cause of the reaction so you can completely avoid it.

Seborrheic dermatitis is a very common skin disease that usually affects the scalp and causes red skin, scaly patches, and dandruff. It can also affect areas on your body that are oily, including the sides of your nose, face, eyebrows, eyelids, ears, and chest. The condition is also known as seborrheic eczema, seborrheic psoriasis, or dandruff. The exact cause of this condition is unknown. However, it may be related to an irregular response of your immune system and a fungus (yeast) in the oil secretion on your skin. Some risk factors can increase your risk of developing seborrheic dermatitis, such as:

  • Recovery from some medical conditions, including a heart attack
  • Psychiatric and neurologic conditions, such as depression and Parkinson’s disease
  • The weakened immune system, usually in people with HIV/AIDS, organ transplant recipients, alcoholic pancreatitis, and certain cancers
  • Some medications.
  • The symptoms of seborrheic dermatitis can be more severe if you are stressed and they tend to flare in dry and cold seasons. The symptoms are:
  • Skin flakes (dandruff) on your hair, scalp, eyebrows, mustache, or beard
  • Red skin
  • Itching
  • Flaky white or yellow scales that cover patches of greasy skin or crust on the face, sides of the nose, scalp, ears, eyebrows, eyelids, armpits, groin area, chest, or under the breasts.

There are numerous other types of eczema and dermatitis, including follicular eczema, stasis dermatitis, dyshidrotic eczema, nummular eczema, hand eczema, dermatitis herpetiformis, asteatotic eczema, discoid eczema, neurodermatitis, and pompholyx eczema. To find out which type of eczema and dermatitis you have, you need to see your doctor so your doctor can diagnose and provide a plan for treatment. Talking about your symptoms and examining your skin is the first step your doctor takes to diagnose your condition. Your doctor may also perform patch testing on your skin and biopsy.

Because the symptoms of eczema are virtually the same, they’re also treated fairly similarly. Some types of eczema and dermatitis can be treated with lifestyle changes and home remedies. This includes:

  • Apply a moisturizer to your skin regularly.
  • Use over-the-counter hydrocortisone cream or an oral antihistamine to temporarily relieve itching and redness.
  • Apply a cool wet cloth to help soothe your skin.
  • Take a warm bath. You can sprinkle baking soda or colloidal oatmeal to your bathwater, soak your skin for around 5 to 10 minutes, pat dry and apply moisturizer while your skin is damp.
  • Use medicated shampoos. If you have dandruff, you can use shampoos that contain zinc pyrithione, ketoconazole, coal tar, or selenium sulfide.
  • Avoid rubbing or scratching the itchy areas.
  • Use mild and unscented laundry detergent
  • Wear smooth-textured cotton clothing to avoid irritating the affected area.
  • Avoid your irritant or allergen.
  • Manage your stress because emotional stressors can cause some dermatitis to flare up.

In addition, your doctor may also suggest you do the following treatment.

  • Use certain creams or ointments that affect your immune system.
  • Take oral corticosteroids (pills) or injectable dupilumab.
  • Expose the affected area to natural or artificial light (phototherapy).
  • Apply corticosteroid creams, ointments, or gels to the affected skin.

LASIK: Expectations vs Reality

No one really appreciates the value of an eye unless you lose your sight or something dreadful happens to it. The eyes are indeed the window that forays into this big wide world. Hence, you must take care of your eyes at all times and never ignore the smallest discomfort.

With advanced medical sciences and technological advancements especially in the field of Ophthalmology, eye disorders and defects can be corrected without any major side effects. One such medical boon in Ophthalmology is laser eye surgery that involves the correction of the defected eye using laser vision. Nowadays, surgery is available in many parts of the world making it easily accessible. Thus, you can decide whether to undergo the surgery while on a business trip in the US or get a LASIK procedure while holidaying in Thailand.

Laser surgery is mainly a solution to correct three main eye defects including:

  1. Myopia – A case of near or short-sightedness where distant objects appear blurred
  2. Hyperopia – A case of farsightedness where focusing nearby objects poses a problem
  3. Mixed Astigmatism – A common case of mixed or blurred vision where everything appears unclear while with some it’s been near-sighted while others are farsighted

Public research reveals that at around 20 percent of the total child population experiences at least one of the above-mentioned eye disorders while at least 30 percent of the total world’s population experiences one or the other form of astigmatism.

Some of the Pros of the procedure include:

  • Enhanced vision – Most people experience better vision immediately after the surgery, in a matter of 18 to 24 hours.
  • Better facial appeal – Although sunglasses look cool and colored contact lenses are trendy, no one wants to wear glasses all the time, as it pulls down the facial appeal.

On the other hand, the procedure also poses a few risks. This includes:

  • Some people complain of having issues at night, especially when they are exposed to high and sensitive lightings. Hence, care must be taken not to expose the eyes to sensitive or bright light immediately after surgery.
  • Eyes tend to dry up quickly post-surgery and prescribed medications or suitable eye drops must be used at all times.

While many people are against the use of laser surgery to correct eye disorders, mainly because of the myths involved around it, UK’s famous eye specialist, Prof. Dan Reinstein denounces all misconceptions and in fact, strongly recommends laser surgery as a corrective measure for all age groups.

Listed below are some interesting surgical facts about laser eye surgery to help you get a feel of what the process is and the expectation levels.

  • German ophthalmologist, Theo Seiler is considered the “Pioneer in Vision Surgery” because it was he who performed the first eye surgery using laser vision.
  • It is one of the most common eye-correction processes, chosen by more than 30 million people around the world.
  • One of the biggest advantages of the surgery is that it is safe, effective, and technologically advanced without any major side effects or complications.
  • In addition, another advantage of the procedure is that laser surgeries will save money over a long period of time when calculating the total amount spent on spectacles and contact lenses.
  • However, the surgery also poses a few risks if treatment is not undertaken at a board-certified reputed clinic or if proper care is not taken. This includes permanent dryness of the eye or other problems such as double vision, glare, reduced vision, and in extreme cases loss of vision itself.
  • There is no age limit as to those who can undergo the surgery. Anyone above 18 years of age can undergo laser eye surgery.
  • The process, when compared to any other medically-related surgical process, is quite short. For instance, the procedure will not take more than 10 minutes for an eye. However, the overall laser correction takes place within 20 to 50 seconds at the most.
  • The recovery time needed for laser eye surgery is also short and eyes begin to heal soon after the treatment ends. The improvement in vision can be experienced after 24 hours and it will take several days for the eyes to settle down and heal completely after the procedure.

Lasik or a laser eye surgery is definitely worth both your time and your money. After all, you cannot have hazy eyesight to see the wonderful things around you.

The Benefits of a Lifting Facial with Facial Massage

Although beauty treatments have become more advanced due to technology, there are some who are still reluctant to have the treatments because of the chemicals involved. Natural treatment seekers never stop their quest at finding the perfect chemical-free remedies they desire. Thankfully, facial massage is there to give them the ideal beauty care they require.

Everything about a Lifting Facial with a Facial Massage

As the title says, A lifting facial massage is a method to tighten the skin by using one of the oldest treatments, which is a massage. However, the goal of a facial massage is not only to relax the face but also to improve it, with lifting as one of the massage’s improvisations.

Facial massage mainly focuses on the acupuncture pressure points and muscles of the skin. Many facial massages have different techniques, but they have the same goal ‒ to help to lift the face and to give a more youthful appearance. Most facial massages are accompanied by serums, vitamins, and other nourishments that are massaged onto the face.

Side Effects of a Lifting Facial Massage

Since facial massage is a method that relies heavily on the traditional methods, there are no side effects from it. The only side effect is having a red face because of the massage, and the red face will not last for long. A lifting facial with a facial massage is a safe method with maximum benefits.

Benefits of a Lifting Facial Massage

Lifting is only one of the many benefits facial massage offers. When a patient finishes their facial massage session, his/her skin will feel smoother right away. Many patients have also stated that they finished the treatment with naturally glowing skin.

Because the treatment uses massage, the face will get all the benefits given by massage. Some of those benefits are improved blood flow, toxin drainage, and relaxation.

The face is not the only part of the body that will get the benefits. Most facial massages also include shoulders and the back as part of the treatment. So patients will get not only smooth skin but also relaxed shoulders and back and they might even get a better sleep thanks to the massage!

Examples of a Lifting Facial with a Facial Massage

Due to the popularity of a lifting facial with a facial massage, certain people and organizations have developed their own facial massage techniques. Some of the techniques are:

  • Bellanina Honey Facelift Massage

Established in 1989, Bellanina facelift massage has the goal of releasing the “energy” of the skin to enhance the skin’s growth. Bellanina facelift massage does so by focusing on the acupressure points and the muscles of the skin. The massage is done by using a special honey mixture to pull the skin up, lifting the face. Having this treatment will stimulate the muscles, helping the skin to feel tighter and younger.

  • Facial Rejuvenation Massage

Also known as Natural Facelift Massage, Facial Rejuvenation Massage emphasizes the easing of the tension of the muscles while stimulating the circulation of the blood and lymph. The goal of the treatment is to get all the beauty benefits ‒ firmer skin, brighter eyes, glowing skin, fewer wrinkles ‒ while giving a relaxing sensation to the skin.

Of course, there are other facial massage techniques that have not been explored in this article. Whatever the massage technique is, know that they are safe, non-invasive, and can deliver results that can rival the most advanced treatment.

Radio Frequency with Micro-needling?

Microneedling is a well-known non-surgical treatment used to restore the skin’s tightness and youthfulness. Unfortunately, the side effects and downtime can be a drawback for most people. Thankfully, there is a new form of Microneedling that will give fewer drawbacks and more satisfactory results. The alternative is no other than Radio Frequency with Microneedling.

Traditional Microneedling vs. RF Microneedling

Before going any further with Radio Frequency Microneedling (RF Microneedling), it is important to know the difference between the two. Although they have a similar framework and purpose, the two types have slightly different processes to reach their goals.

Traditional Microneedling uses small needles to create micro-injuries on the skin. The injuries trigger the skin to heal, releasing new collagen and elastin during the process. Unfortunately, the micro-injuries will result in a red and swollen face and the side effects will need at least one to two weeks to wear off. Slight Bleeding can also occur during this treatment.

RF Microneedling is similar to traditional Microneedling, except that they use smaller needles to do the process. What makes this special, however, is the radio frequency the needles have. When the needles are inside the skin, the needles release a radio frequency wave that leaves a warm feeling on the skin to stimulate collagen and elastin.

Some doctors would perform Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) during this session. The purpose of PRP is to treat wrinkles better and stimulate the skin’s regeneration cells.

RF Microneedling’s price ranges from $150 to $2,000 per session depending on the region of the body.

Preparation before RF Microneedling

Although this is a safe non-surgical treatment, there are certain things patients need to stay away from before starting the treatment. Patients should not consume alcohol or any anti-inflammatory medicines before the treatment. Patients should also stop using skin products, as they might increase the sensitivity of the skin.

Although it is not required, having a healthy diet several weeks prior to the treatment is preferred. A healthy diet results in healthier skin, and it will impact the longevity of the result.

Side Effects of RF Microneedling

Since this method uses small needles, they do not puncture the skin as deep as traditional Microneedling. The skin will not bleed as much as the traditional treatment. In fact, most people do not bleed during the session.

There will be little downtime and side effects are minimal after the treatment. The only real side effects are the red face and the brown grit marks on the skin, which will disappear in two to three days. Patients can start to wear make-up again two days after the treatment.

Benefits of RF Microneedling

Since the radiofrequency is shot deep inside the skin, patients will get a faster result than the traditional method. RF Microneedling results in less fine lines and facial wrinkles, along with better skin texture and tone. Acne scars will appear less visible, resulting in smoother skin.

However, all the benefits mentioned will not happen after one treatment and most people achieve the result after three to four treatments done monthly. Everything depends on the state of the skin, so it is best to have a consultation with an expert before starting with the treatment.

Do not be afraid of this method, because it is not as scary as it looks and it has very few side effects for a maximum result. If you do not believe it, book an appointment now to experience the treatment first hand!

Whats The Ultralift?

Cosmetic surgery is very popular, but it is now time for surgery to step down from the spotlight. Nowadays, non-surgical treatments are becoming trendy, as non-surgical treatments will give you satisfying and pain-free results. Among all the different types of non-surgical treatments available, one stands out from the rest due to the amazing result it gives and that one treatment is no other than an Ultralift.

How an Ultralift Works

It is a knife-free treatment that relies on ultrasound to boost the natural growth of the skin. No scalpel, no knife, only a round device that will warm up the patient’s face.

During the session, the ultrasound goes through the skin and reaches the muscles deep inside and makes the muscles contract. The ultrasound also stimulates the skin to grow collagen. Although there is a short-term result, the overall effect can only be seen much later on when the collagen builds itself up.

Who Should Try an Ultralift?

Since an Ultralift emphasizes younger-looking skin, an Ultralift is best for those who are in their 30s. However, those below 30 who have trouble with less firm skin can also try this painless treatment.

Ultralift’s Price

Ultralift’s cost can vary, starting from $150 to $2000. The price depends on the region and the parts of the face that are to be treated. Those who recently started the treatment will need to have the session monthly in order to see the result quickly. Once the patient has the desired result, they can cut back on the treatment program and then have it performed every three to six months.

Things to do before the Treatment

Although an Ultralift is a non-surgical treatment, patients still need to prepare themselves beforehand. Patients should avoid having intense aesthetic treatment such as fillers and botox three months before the Ultralift. After the treatment, they need to avoid direct sunlight and use sunscreen for at least two weeks. They should also avoid face scrub or chlorine water for two days.

What’s the Result?

As it has been stated before, the skin will feel tighter immediately after the Ultralift session. However, the final results come months after the treatment.

The result will appear only after a proper amount of collagen has build-up, which is around two to three months. After three months, the skin will appear firmer and tighter. There are other results, depending on one’s skin. Some will have their wrinkles reduced, and others might lose their double chins. Patients might even have sharper jawlines and lose the puff under their eyes because of the Ultralift!

Side Effects and Downtime

Thankfully, Ultralift does not have any downtime. Those with light skin might see some flushed cheeks, but that is about it. Patients can also use makeup immediately after the treatment.

Patients barely experience any side effects from an Ultralift. However, there are some rare cases where side effects may happen. The side effects can be swelling cheeks and a tingling sensation, but they usually heal in three to four days.

Are You Ready for a Better You?

Ultralift is the perfect alternative to cosmetic surgery. It can make your skin healthier and tighter without having to touch a scalpel. There is no downtime and little side effects. If there are side effects, they will disappear in less than a week. Although the treatment is costly, there is no need for monthly visitations, making an Ultralift the perfect investment for your beauty.

Top 5 Facial Treatments

Different types of treatments have been created as the beauty industry tries to cater to a developing market, resulting in various types of treatments. Below are the top 5 facial treatments you can try out.

  • Hydrafacial

Those who want a cleaner and hydrated look can opt for a Hydrafacial. Hydrafacial MD has a sophisticated device that will exfoliate, clean, and moisture the face in less than two hours.

The first step is to clean and exfoliates the face so that the dirt does not obstruct the hydrating process. After that, the device sucks the dirt and blackheads away while using glycolic and salicylic acids at the same time. The third step moisturizes the face by filling it with vitamins and antioxidants.

The last process uses blue/red LED lights to seal everything used during the process. When you finish the treatment, you will get a glowing and plump hydrated skin.

Hydrafacial’s price ranges from $150 to $300, and it can be performed monthly

Microdermabrasion is similar to Hydrafacial in terms of exfoliating. Microdermabrasion uses a diamond-shaped or crystal-filled tool to glide across the face, removing the dirt and stimulating the collagen.

Intense treatment can be done weekly. Once the desired result is achieved, the $50 to $100 treatment can be carried out monthly.

  • Chemical Peel

If microdermabrasion uses a handheld device, chemical peel uses a chemical formula to remove the top layer of the skin. The dermatologist rubs the chemical all over the face and then uses towels or cleansers as part of the treatment. The dead skin usually comes off within three to seven days, depending on your skin type.

The treatment is perfect for those who want to get rid of their acne scars quickly. The price depends on your location. It can be as low as $50 or as high as $500, depending on the type of chemical that is used on the patient.

  • Microneedle

Microneedle is not for the faint-hearted, as it involves needle and skin puncturing. Microneedle is a facial treatment where the handheld needle device punctures the skin simultaneously while applying nourishment and vitamins. The micro-injuries trigger the body to heal itself, stimulating the collagen and elastin. Thankfully, a numbing cream is applied to the face first, resulting in a painless process. After that, the dermatologist applies a cooling mask that gives more nourishment on the face.

The $50 to $300 treatment is best for those who want to improve their skin’s texture and to nourish it. It is not for impatient people as the result appears only after a number of treatments.

  • Microcurrent

Need a quick lift for your skin? Then microcurrent is for you. As the name implies, microcurrent uses an electrical current to stimulate your muscles and skin. Of course, the serum and other goodies are also applied during the stimulation. The treatment is finished by applying a sheet mask onto the face, calming the muscles while giving more nourishment.

Depending on the location, microcurrent ranges from $100 to $495. If it is too expensive, you can opt to do it at home by buying the $85 to $250 device.

With the unlimited number of treatments available, you can pick the one most suitable for your skin and needs. Call the nearest beauty clinic and book an appointment now!

How Long Does Facial Rejuvenation Last

With the advancements in technology, skin treatments have slowly adapted to use machine-related treatments as part of one’s skincare treatment program, which of course would include facial rejuvenation. Thanks to technology, we now have more options to carry out a facial rejuvenation, and the options now are laser and surgical facial rejuvenation.

  • Laser Facial Rejuvenation

Laser facial rejuvenation is the process of using light beams for the treatment of wrinkles, scars, pigmentation, and other skin issues. The treatment is carried out by using the light beams on the skin, sometimes in the form of patterns. There are two kinds of laser treatments ‒ ablative laser and non-ablative laser.

Ablative laser

Ablative laser, or CO2 laser, is the pioneer of laser facial rejuvenation. The latest ablative laser, which is also called fractionated CO2, uses the light beams continuously in the form of scanning patterns. The laser results in a wavelength so intense to the point where it can remove the top layer of the skin with as little damage as possible.

Since the process removes a layer of skin on the face, the downtime for ablative laser treatment is pretty long and can range from one to two weeks. During this time, a patient’s face might end up swollen or becomes red.

However, an intense ablative laser session can improve deep wrinkles, scars, and skin texture in one session only. The result of the treatment can last up to three years. If you have a healthy diet and lifestyle, the result can last for five years.

The price of the ablative laser varies, depending on the region and treatment. The price starts from $500 to $2000.

Non-ablative laser

Non-ablative laser, or erbium laser, has the same function as ablative laser but with less downtime and side-effects. Instead of removing the top layer of skin, the non-ablative laser stimulates the heat under the skin.

Due to its milder nature, non-ablative laser’s downtime only ranges from three days to one week. Just like CO2 laser, Erbium laser treatment can last up to three years, and it will last longer with a healthy lifestyle. The price ranges from $500 to $2500.

Just as the name suggests, surgical facial rejuvenation uses surgery for your skin issues. The surgery starts with a facelift, with other surgeries such as eyelid surgery, fat injection, fillers, and skin resurfacing being added later depending on the patient’s requirement.

Since it is a surgery, the treatment will be more costly. A facelift will cost at least $6,000 to $12,000 and sometimes the clinic will also charge for the consultation. The consultation fee ranges from $100 to $150, though some clinics allow you to claim the consultation fee if you have surgery on the same day.

Despite the price, surgical facial rejuvenation can drastically make a person look ten years younger, and the result can last up to fifteen years. Contrary to popular beliefs, after surgery, the downtime is only for two weeks.

The two types of facial rejuvenation have different methods and results and as such this gives more choices to the patient, as the patients can select their type of treatment according to their budgets and requirements.

hair transplant

This is my Hair

Hair loss is normal. It is natural for the hair to fall out and to be replaced by newer strands. When the natural replacement process doesn’t happen and when the follicles fail to produce new hair strands to replace the hair that had fallen down, hair thinning happens. In some cases, this also progresses and leads to balding. Nutritional deficiencies, stress, hereditary factors, drop in collagen levels, thyroid problems and certain types of medications can all lead to excess hair loss. There are several hair regrowth treatment options available today. If you are looking for something quicker and more effective there is also the option of getting hair transplantation.

What is hair transplantation?

This is a method where natural hair follicles are transplanted from one location to another in order to stimulate the growth of hair. There is a healthy donor site selected for the procedure. Using advanced methods the follicles from this region are extracted without affecting the hair growth in the donor site. The grafts are prepared from the extracted follicles and then planted in the site where the thinning or balding has occurred. The exact procedure involved and the time taken might well vary based on the type of transplantation method adopted.

What are the common types of hair transplantation methods used?

Hair transplantation is a minimally invasive surgery that takes a short period of time. The difference in the procedure being followed is based on the level of automation involved and the number of follicles removed at one go.

In the case of Follicular Unit Extraction or FUE, Individual follicles are extracted in a random fashion resulting in a slight reduction in the hair density at the donor site. But as there are no tissue extractions being made there are no stitches involved and therefore you can expect shorter recovery time. There a minimal level of discomfort involved with a quick recovery, the before and after comparison of the hair growth can be quite stunning in some cases.

Follicular Unit Transplant or FUT is the method where a tissue strip is removed from the donor site. This strip is then separated to prepare grafts ready to be transplanted onto the targeted location. Given the precision of the method and the ability to treat complicated hair loss and balding conditions this method is very common. This one involves a slightly longer period of recovery than the FUE method but the results are pretty good.

Benefits of hair transplantation

This is my Face

Every single person on this earth wishes for one thing in life – to look better. Even people whom we consider as the most beautiful or handsome have their own perspective of beauty and that is why we find people who opt for surgeries to make themselves look better. With the advancements in Cosmetic procedures, anyone can now choose to get a few changes made with a procedure called a facelift.

What exactly is facelift?

Face-lift is a cosmetic surgery carried out with the aim of giving you a more younger-looking appearance. It reverses signs of aging and gives a youthful curve to your face. Excess fat and chin around the chin and the neck are removed through surgery giving you the look that you crave for. Incisions are made in the skin and the excess fat is either removed using the laser technology or the liposuction method.

Apart from the regular facelift surgeries, mini face-lifts are also in vogue now. This procedure is a less painful one because the incisions are done using a smaller incision, which helps in faster recovery and fewer scars on the face.

Does facelift really help?

There is a noticeable change before and after the surgery. It reduces the creases that are found in between the cheeks and the lips. It tightens the skin which gives a better look. The drooping or sagging of the skin is clearly reduced.

Though the procedure does make you look younger, there are some disadvantages to it. The incisions create swelling in the skin, and especially when you are trying to recover from the procedure it can be quite annoying. Patience is really a keyword that you need to keep telling yourself because the final results can take a little longer than you would expect. If you are worried about the scarring effect, there’s good news for you as the modern technology used ensures that the scars are well hidden to the point that they are almost invisible. In order to look more attractive, there is some pain involved too, which you have to bear post surgery. Though you might not experience crucial pain, the swelling and incision might cause minor irritations and inconvenience.

How long does it take to recover?

Like in all other surgeries, the recovery time may differ from person to person based on their health condition. In the cases of healthy individuals, the swelling after any surgery will start to reduce within 10 days. A normal person would be able to return to everyday activities after 2 weeks. Restrict yourself from doing a lot of physical work during the recovery period as it may delay the healing. Pay attention to the procedures post-surgery and follow them religiously. The results are mostly permanent, and you are sure to turn heads in the following days.

Appearances do matter in this modern world and a Facelift is definitely a solution to aid you and reduce your physical age.
